Walking Can Speed Weight Loss
For a very long time, walking and weight loss have gone hand in hand. Walking is an easy exercise that will help you reach your desired weight. In order for walking to help you with weight loss, it must be done consistently. There is some information about walking that you should know in order to reach your weight loss goals.
Walking is an ideal way to raise your metabolism. When you boost your metabolism you will burn fat. This is exactly what is needed for anyone to lose weight. Walking is one of the easiest exercises there is. It’s so easy that children can join in.
Walking is a low impact exercise that burns plenty of calories, which is also needed for weight loss. Walking is a firm foundation for any kind of weight loss program as you can easily confirm with a little bit of research.
When you start walking you should start out slowly and gradually increase you time and distance until you can easily walk for 30 minutes. You will enjoy the maximum benefits from walking if you walk at least five times a week for 30 minutes at a time.
Be careful that you don’t overdo it when you are beginning. You could easily injure yourself if you aren’t careful. Many people start walking but fail to do it consistently.
You must get in the habit of walking daily or at the very least every other day in order for it to be effective. There are a few things you can do that will help you stick with your schedule so you lose weight regularly, but most importantly, keep it off.
Here are just of few methods you can use to make walking fun so you will stick with it for the long run. Giving up is one sure way to never lose any weight, so be sure to find something than makes you want to walk on a regular basis.
One: Listen to your favorite songs – Fill your MP3 player or iPod with the music you love and listen to it when you are walking. This gives you something to focus on instead of how far you are walking and makes time pass quickly.
Two: Walk with some of your friends or neighbors – This is an ideal way to pass time while walking. It will help you stick to your schedule if you are accountable to someone else.
These are just two of the many possible ways you can make walking fun. The main thing is to find something that makes walking fun for you. If you want this exercise to help you lose weight, it is important that you stick with it.
Walking and weight loss will continue to go hand in hand because walking is definitely the easiest way to reach your weight loss goals. It’s possible for anyone to stick to a walking routine as long as it is enjoyable. Don’t delay, start walking today and before long you’ll be enjoying the weight loss you’re after.

Like any lifestyle change, switching eating habits can be a huge pain. It was seriously overwhelming for me. I think it's actually as hard as beating an addiction, because it's so easy to just grab whatever is easily at hand and cram it in your mouth. One of the best things you can do is head to your local library, or the internet. An easy-ish way to start eating healthier is to look at some of the kinds of food you like (e.g. Italian, Spanish, Asian, etc.) and find recipes for them.
I know, I know, you're thinking "Recipes?! I was looking for an easy way to eat better!"
But you're not looking for any old recipe, you're looking for some specific types of recipes. There are three kinds of recipes that are my absolute favorites:
1.) One-dish recipes: these are good but still often require a bit of know-how and time involvement for preparation. They are good though if you're not afraid to do some work in the kitchen, but hate cleanup. A quick googling turned up this site, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet:
2.) "X-Minute" recipes: these come in a bunch of flavors (10-minute, 20-minute, 5-minute, etc.). These are a little better in my opinion than the "one dish" type recipes since I'm usually short on time, and don't mind cleanup that much.
3.) "X-ingredient" recipes: these are similar to the "x-minute" recipes but limit the number of ingredients instead of prep time. These are good starter recipes until you get the hang of cooking. With these you don't have to buy a billion bottles of spices in the beginning that you won't really use when you're starting out.
4.) "Crockpot" or "slow cooker" recipes: these are some of my all-time faves since they really combine some of the best of all worlds. Usually quick to prepare, very little cleanup, and often made of simple ingredients. And it's not all pot-roasts; you'd be amazed the kinds of dishes you can prepare in a slow-cooker! These recipes have one major advantage though, they can cook themselves without you! If you've got a slow-cooker with a timer function (less than $60 should get you a very nice one, $30-ish on sale), you can have a healthy meal waiting for you when you wake up or get home from work/class/etc.
Your library should have a bunch of books on all three types of recipes.
Ask friends/acquaintances/people at the bus stop for recipes; food is a great way to start up a conversation and meet people. Another great place to get inspired is a local natural foods store (if you have one). Whole Foods and such are okay, but I'm talking about more of a mom-and-pop type place if there is have one near you. Practically anyone you meet in a natural food store will have a recipe they can share for something you will find interesting.
And if you're simply terrified of the stove and kitchen, you should also check out two of the most indispensible books for any cook ever written (and I'm not the only one who thinks so):
The Joy of Cooking by Irma Rombauer (less than $20 on Amazon)
The Way To Cook by Julia Child (used is about $8 w/shipping on Amazon)
These books work more like instruction manuals than "cook books". Follow them to the letter, step-by-step and you should be able to cook almost anything, even if you've got two left oven mitts.
If you're the watch it done type, there are numerous cooking shows, one of my total faves is America's Test Kitchen. Each episode, they take a couple of recipes and prepare them start to finish, pointing out what not to do, and some really handy little tricks to make the dish come out its absolute best. And of course there are tons of videos online for almost anything you could want to cook. Julia Child's shows are archived online at PBS.org and searchable by chefs, recipes, ingredients, etc. Many cooking shows have similar websites with similar features.
Sorry to inundate you with so much information, but this is something I really feel strongly about. By switching to a "natural" diet (not necessarily organic, but cutting out all the "artificials"…preservatives, colorings, and flavorings), I managed to control my ADD to the point that I no longer have to take medication for it. As Hippocrates so simply put it: "Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food."

first things first you are still a kid (or teenager) so of course your not going to be perfect yet, or even happy with your body yet. you will be changing and it will be slow perhaps (your boobs being far apart) and quick (your height). In my opinion as you are young you should not be bothered about your weight too much, but heres how i can help: keep up the exercise, even if it feels like it's not working it is, you'd see a difference if you stopped. Maybe try putting even more effort into it, to get you sweating more. Also yes, do cut out the junk food, and fill up in fruit and veg as these are good for you.. however don't forget to treat yourself a little every once in a while. Don't go eating a huge breakfast unless you acctually are going to have a smaller tea and be active through out the day, Why not just eat less all together.. smaller meals more often. e.g normal/ smaller than average size portion of breakfast, wait awhile (2-3 hours) and then have an apple or some fruit. Then have a small lunch, lots of veg and then 2-3 hours later another snack of fruit of something. Then for tea (this is probably what your mum cooks, ask for a little less then usual,) and eat that. NOT EATING AFTER 7 IS GOOD TOO as usually people will be watching tv at this time not doing much, however if your still active and get a little hungry it's okay to have another snack.. eating through out the day is much better as it keeps you metabolism high which helps you to burn more fat… OHH and also keep drink 8 glasses of water a day (no fizzy pop) and if your not already excersize for 30mins to 1 hour every day xx good luck, sorry for the essay, i could write more but you'd probably get bored

I've always found it easier to eat food without actually knowing what it IS and whats inside of it. I have actually walked inside a French restaurant and the ENTIRE menu was French. I ordered escargots but when they were served to me, it was covered in some kind of sauce. It actually tasted good, until I was told it was snails about 2 hours later.
You might want to try some easy to enjoy healthy foods first and go one step at a time. I've always like fried broccoli, where you cover broccoli in flour then fry it. It turns to junk food if you deep fry it, so be careful. You could maybe make a sandwich with some veggies and some ham, chicken, etc.
