This should definately help and it got me from a 10 minute mile down to a 7. So try this for about a month and you should be in good shape:
1) Eat several small meals a day (no large meals: don't eat 2-3 big meals). This helps your metabolism. When you only eat a couple times a day your body gets hungry and saves all the fats and sugars from what you eat opposed to eating several times. When you eat more often during a day your body knows it will get food soon so it doesn't bother keeping the unwanted materials in food.
2) Excercise 1 hour a day or more by doing curl-ups/sit-ups and use a treadmill or just run/jog for 5 minutes then walk for 10 and run/jog for 5 and keep doing this for about 30 minutes or so.
3) Don't eat chocolates and chips or anything with a lot of trans fat.

well usually people have a set point…. consistency is the key…. let's say your set poing is 135lbs You usually could lose 5-10lbs then go back to 135lbs in a couple of weeks, then gain 5-10lbs and then go back to 135lbs in a couple of weeks… If you excersie consistently for a long period of time, months-years…. then your set point itself will change… to let's say 110…
My father is a nutritionist… He does not believe in "QUICK" weight loss diets… if they are not maintained for years..
The below works for me.

Drink water instead of fizzy drinks. You'll feel refreshed and you'll have more energy. Aim to drink 1.5L a day.
Eat breakfast – it sets you up for the day and you're less likely to snack if you do.
If you snack between meals, choose healthier options like fruit with lowfat yoghurt over it.
Never skip meals, starving yourself wont help you to lose weight, it just means when you do eat again, your body will store more of it incase it has to go through the starvation period again.
Exercising in the morning before breakfast will kickstart your metabolism.
I'd recommend buying a jump rope and using it for 15 minutes a few times a day. 15 minutes of jumping is = to 30 minutes of jogging. It works your arms, legs and stomach all at the same time and it counts as cardio. You can make it fun by counting your jumps and trying to beat it next time, or sticking your favourite tunes on and jumping to the beat. Remember to stretch before and after you work out – thats the secret to toning up!
There are no quick fixes. You have to make the lifestyle choice.

Oh! I forgot to mention….I love the bigger loser show. That is what motivated me last year to start eating better which led me to lose weight. At the gym: Cardio & Weight Train
Cardio: Don't kill yourself on the 1st day…You must build endurance! Start off walking, move up to brisk walking…incline walking, jogging than running (broken down into several weeks). (25 – 45 mins)
Weight Training: Once again don't kill yourself for it, start with low weights and don't go up so high…most women are looking for toned body's not bulk ones. When you move up in a weight do more repititions in your sets to tone not bulk.
-Important: don't work out the same muscles everyday, you can strain and wear them out…EXAMPLE: M/W/F: Upper Body and Tu/Th: Lower body. M/W/F: Ab workouts….re-arrange to your pleasure. Once you get up to running (keep it to certain days not everyday…brisk walkon other days)
